About this policy

This privacy policy applies to the Kickabout app for mobile devices, developed by Andrew Heaney as a free service, provided "AS IS".

Information you provide

When you register for Kickabout, we collect the following personal information:

• Your first and last name
• Your email address, managed securely via Firebase Authentication
• A unique user identifier assigned by Firebase

Registration is not mandatory, but core features such as creating and joining groups will be unavailable without it.

We may use the information you provide to contact you with important notices and updates about the app.

Information collected automatically

When you use Kickabout, certain technical information is collected automatically by Firebase (provided by Google) to support app functionality and stability. This may include:

• Your device type and operating system (e.g. iOS or Android)
• IP address (collected by Firebase, not stored directly by Kickabout)
• App usage and crash data

This data is processed by Firebase in accordance with Google's privacy policy.

Location data

Kickabout does not request or collect precise real-time location information from your device.

Third party services

Kickabout uses Firebase (provided by Google) for user authentication and data storage. Your name, email address, and unique user identifier are stored securely within Firebase. Firebase acts as a data processor on our behalf and is subject to Google's data processing terms.

We may also disclose your information in the following circumstances:

• As required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process
• When we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect rights, safety, or to investigate fraud

Account deletion and data retention

You can delete your account at any time from within the app via the Profile or Settings screen. Upon deletion:

• Your Firebase Authentication account is permanently removed
• Your first name, last name, and email are permanently deleted from our database
• An anonymised identifier may be retained to preserve the integrity of shared group data such as lineups and match history. This identifier cannot be used to identify you.

Opting out

You can stop all data collection by deleting your account within the app or by uninstalling the app at any time using your device's standard uninstall process.

Children's privacy

Kickabout does not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 13. We encourage parents and guardians to monitor their children's usage and to instruct them never to provide personal information without permission.

You must be at least 16 years of age to consent to the processing of your personal data (or have a parent or guardian do so on your behalf, where permitted).

Security

User data is stored securely within Firebase, which employs industry-standard security measures. Access to your data is limited to what is necessary to operate the app. No system can guarantee against all potential breaches, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the effective date on this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

Your consent

By using Kickabout, you consent to the processing of your information as described in this policy, including any future amendments. "Processing" includes collecting, storing, using, and disclosing information.
